Your trusted partner for a smooth, stress-free transition to life overseas.

Pre-Departure/On Arrival Support

Starting a new chapter in a foreign country—whether for education, work, or long-term settlement—can initially feel overwhelming. At SNS Consulting Group, we recognize the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with such a transition. That’s why we are committed to standing by our students every step of the way with timely support and resources.

Pre-Departure Support for Visa-Granted Students

Once your visa is approved, our team offers personal and group orientation sessions covering vital topics such as air ticket booking, travel tips, accommodation arrangements, and airport pick-up services. We also conduct pre-travel training that helps you adjust smoothly to your new environment, including sessions on local culture, lifestyle, and essential survival skills for the initial days abroad.

Purpose of Pre-Departure Orientation

Our main goal is to help you feel confident and comfortable as you begin life in a new country. We aim to reduce culture shock, prepare you for lifestyle changes, and equip you to handle the common challenges students face while living and studying abroad.

Your Pre-Departure Checklist

Before you pack your bags, make sure to tick off these important items:

Health & Medical Preparation

  • Medical treatment, especially dental and vision care, can be costly abroad. It’s advisable to get a comprehensive health check-up before departure.

  • Check if your destination country requires any mandatory vaccinations and get them completed early.

  • Carry basic medicines (e.g., cold relief, painkillers, or allergy medication), as many are pricier or restricted overseas.

Luggage Guidelines

  • Most airlines allow check-in baggage with a total linear dimension not exceeding 158 cm and a weight limit of 20–25 kg. This may vary, so verify with your airline.

  • For hand luggage, you’re typically allowed 5–10 kg. If traveling with friends, share luggage wisely to stay within the allowed limit.

  • Use TSA-approved locks for added security during international travel.

Basic Cooking Skills & Essentials

  • Learn to prepare simple home meals like rice, lentils, and vegetables—this will come in handy during your early days abroad.

  • You may bring a 3–7 litre pressure cooker, essential spices, and traditional cooking ingredients. However, most of these items are available in international grocery stores too.
